RIOGRANDENSE IS ONE OF THE LARGEST COMPANIES IN RIO GRANDE DO SUL
CMPC Celulose Riograndense is one of the largest companies in Rio Grande do Sul and Brazil. It produces bleached pulp from the short eucalyptus fiber, marketed globally for manufacturers of high value-added tissue, becoming the first link in a productive chain essential for people's quality of life.
Belonging to the CMPC group, the plant operates in the municipality of Guaíba, in the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre, with annual capacity of 1.75 million tons of pulp , as well as 60 thousand tons of paper. The company's industrial plant has its own electricity generation through of waste from the wood burning process and the burning of coal, in addition to recycling about 99.7% of its industrial solid waste.
The factory is supplied by timber from forest plantations within an average radius of 300 kilometers from the factory. The company's forestry base has a planting area of 324,000 hectares, of which 170,000 hectares are devoted to eucalyptus plantations and the remainder correspond to the Permanent Preservation Areas (APP) and Legal Reserve.
