KNOW THE MAIN PROJECTS
It consists of the annual production and distribution of 400 thousand schoolbooks and 1.8 million sheets of paper off set in A4 format for use in the public elementary school network of the 57 municipalities in the region where the company operates. They are more than 28 years of project, benefiting more than 8 million students.
ACCORDION PLAYER FACTORY
Project of social inclusion in partnership with the Renato Borghetti Institute, whose target audience are children between 7 and 15 years. It consists of the training of pupils-apprentices of the diatonic accordion (eight bass harmonica). A differential of this project is that to perfect the learning in class, students can take the bagpipes home. Ten schools have already been installed in different municipalities.KNOW MORE
MUSIC ON THE ROAD
A project initially focused on the neighbors of the factory and the community of Guaíba, Music on the Road after 10 years of local presentations was expanded and now serves different communities in the municipalities of CMPC. The Music on the Road consists of concerts with open admission and brings together renowned artists from the gaucho music, such as Luiz Carlos Borges, Gaúcho da Fronteira, Renato Borghetti, among others.
Since 1981, CMPC has enabled small honey producers to place their hives near the company's eucalyptus plantations, a tree that is rich in flowering. On the other hand, about 8% of the total honey obtained is passed on to Special Education Schools (mostly APAEs) of 23 municipalities in Rio Grande do Sul. Annually, the project provides income for 120 beekeepers and approximately 6 tons of honey for special education schools. Most institutions sell honey as a means of generating resources.
Campaign that encourages municipal schools in the region where the company operates to develop environmental projects. The work includes training workshops and environmental education activities whose methodology is mainly reverted in the improvement of the school yard. Indications of the schools are made by the Municipal Secretariats of Education and each edition includes, on average, 18 schools, involving more than 3,800 students.
ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION DAY
Students between 12 and 16 years of Pantano Grande and Encruzilhada do Sul schools in social vulnerability spend a day at Rincão Gaia, a space designed by José Lutzenberger, where they receive environmental education classes based on ecological practices.
KEEP GUAIBA CLEAN
Partnership with the Guahyba Canoe Association to develop educational actions that sensitize students and their families to the socio-environmental issue with a special focus on water resources. It carries out thematic workshops and garbage collection in Lake Guaíba, contributing to the promotion of attitude change and citizen action.
Project directed to the communities surrounding the forest gardens of CMPC that provides the simultaneous communication of forest operations to a large number of neighbors and liners of the properties where there will be forest management activities. It promotes integration through meetings with the population and also serves to disclose other information and aspects about the company, as well as the distribution of materials with a 0800 telephone number for emergencies and complaints.
PULP AND PAPER TECHNICAL TRAINING COURSE
Since 1979, CMPC has held the Technical Training Course in Pulp and Paper in the municipality of Guaíba, offered free of charge in partnership with the Gomes Jardim Education Institute and recognized by the State Education Department. It counts on professionals of the technical staff of the company to act as teachers. The two-year course prepares students to work in the pulp and chemical process industry, expanding their marketing opportunities.KNOW MORE
CMPC, in partnership with the Food Bank of Rio Grande do Sul and through the Guaíba nucleus and Sodexo do Brasil, donates the surplus food from the company's restaurant to the São José Beneficent Association, the main sponsor of Projari , Recreation and Informatics). The Projari brings together a set of socio-educational, artistic, informative, cultural, professional and leisure activities in the form of courses and workshops for children, adolescents, youth and adults of Guaíba. The surplus feeds, on average, 60 to 80 people per day.KNOW MORE
Program in the municipalities with forestry activities of CMPC, with the purpose of selecting and supporting with financial resources preventive health projects that raise awareness among the population about aspects important for a better quality of life. The practice contributes to the reduction of expenses with high-cost medical care in the localities, as well as providing informative content for the construction of healthy habits.
